What is SBM? Systematic Botany Monographs is a series of peer-reviewed taxonomic monographs and revisions published the American Society of Plant Taxonomists.

Does membership in ASPT include a standing order to SBM? No; volumes of Systematic Botany Monographs must be ordered separately. ASPT membership inludes only a subscription to the quarterly journal Systematic Botany.
SBM is supported by sales, author's subsidies, and donations.
What is the frequency of publication? SBM is an irregular series. Each issue constitutes a volume; in general, two to six volumes are published each year.
What is the price? Each volume of SBM is priced separately; see the catalog.
Must orders be prepaid?
Orders (except standing orders) must be prepaid.
Proforma invoices are provided on request.
What are the terms for standing orders? Standing orders receive a 10% discount and are billed with shipment.
Is postage included? The price per volume includes handling and postage. Orders to a US address are sent by "Media Mail"; orders to a non-US address are sent "First Class Mail International."
Charges for UPS and Express/Priority Mail are quoted on request.
What form of payment is accepted? Checks and money orders should be made payable to the American Society of Plant Taxonomists (or abbreviate as "ASPT").

Credit card payments are also accepted: VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover.
Are discounts available? Only standing orders receive a 10% discount. Price reductions are available for Special Offers and orders for sets of back issues.
Are returns and exchanges accepted? No refunds or exchanges are allowed. Claims for undelivered or damaged copies must be filed by 1 year from the ordering date.
Who can publish in SBM? All members of ASPT are invited to submit manuscripts that will be at least 50 printed pages long; see SBM guidelines. Each paper is peer-reviewed by at least two referees. Non-members may also contribute papers, but they must bear all costs.
What are the page charges? Members of ASPT are not required to pay page charges (except for color work). All others will be charged $50 per page (color work is billed separately).
