The University of Michigan Herbarium houses 1.1 million specimens of vascular plants (ferns and fern allies, gymnosperms, and flowering plants), including ca. 12,000 type. The holdings include major collections from Michigan and the Great Lakes, and Mexico, as well as from Belize, Iran, the Himalayan Region, Hawaii, Borneo, and The Philippines.
