Research Interests.
My research has two foci. I specialize in the systematics of neotropical flowering plants in the family Malpighiaceae, working both on revisions of several genera and on treatments for the many floristic projects now in progress from Arizona to Uruguay. In addition, I am collaborating with Charles C. Davis on the use of both molecular and morphological data to elucidate the generic and suprageneric phylogeny of the Malpighiaceae. My other research hat is that of General Editor and publisher of Rogers McVaugh's Flora Novo-Galiciana, which describes the vascular plants of southwestern Mexico.
